
Geoff Harrod
Managing Director
Geoff has been in the building trade for over 30 years, entirely in the Bournemouth & Poole area – a true local businessman. Geoff started G R Westbuild in 2002 principally to service the Local Authorities in the maintenance and improvement of their housing stock. He prides himself in the quality of his workmanship, and that of his team, and is particularly proud of the work done in disabled adaptations both directly for Local Authorities properties and on Grant-Assisted projects in the private sector.
His business interests, whilst still firmly set in the central south coast area, has extended into domestic, commercial and retail areas. Geoff runs a ‘family’ business and applies family principles to his business affairs. Geoff sets customer services at the top of his agenda and will never compromise on Health & Safety. A great supporter of local charities, Geoff is particularly pleased to be associated with Access Dorset, a local charity helping to improve the lives of local disabled people. He is married to Trudy and they have three sons, all of whom are involved in the company.

Dave Taylor
Operations Director
Dave joined us in 2011 and brings with him a wealth of experience at senior management level in a number of successful companies & in a variety of different industries. With qualifications in Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, he was awarded a Fellowship in Management & Leadership at Ashridge Management College & completed his Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) at Manchester Business School. Following a full technical apprenticeship, Dave gained valuable management & leadership skills with GEC-Marconi at a number of locations throughout the UK rising to a senior management position. He has subsequently been Managing Director of AS Fire & Rescue Equipment, Operations Director at Penny & Giles Position Sensors, Head of Operations at Dalkia Rail, Partnership Manager for the Kinetics Group on the prestigious Bournemouth Borough Council Housing Landlord Services Contract and headed up a Management Consultancy business.
Dave states “G R Westbuild is operating is a highly competitive market but it’s unwavering focus on customer service, appetite for growth and it’s endeavour to provide best value for money for it’s clients are the crucial elements for success. During the last couple of years we have added a number of important customers to our portfolio and we continue to strengthen our team and our position in the market place. We will continually strive to meet and exceed our customer’s expectations and face the challenges in the coming year from a very firm foundation.”
Dave is married to Linda, a Strategic H R Specialist.

Jemma Rose
Office Manager
Jemma is our Office Manager. She joined us in 2009 from Homeserve and has a background in building and maintenance administration.
Qualified to NVQ and RSA level 3 in business administration, Jemma has over 17 years experience in office management and is a key member of the Westbuild Team.

Kevin Sheldon
Contract Supervisor.
Kevin joined the business in April 2012. He brings with him experience in property improvement and supervisory management.
